This is the question I am asked a lot when people ask me what a marketing job is.

It seems like a meaningless term.

Yet it is a job.

It is something that you do for money.

It has a name, it has a title, it is something people want to hire you for.

It isn’t something you should expect to make money doing.

There are three things to consider before you hire a marketing person.

They will need to have a background in the business, they will need experience with customer acquisition and sales, and they will have to know how to use social media and SEO tools.

I am going to break it down for you now, so you can make an informed decision. 

1.

Who are you hiring for?

This is important.

It matters that the person is looking for a marketing role, not a sales or sales associate.

If you want to recruit a sales associate, hire a sales person.

A marketing job should be for people who know what a sales job is, who have a track record of sales and have a good understanding of social media, SEO, and other related topics.

A sales person knows how to reach their target audience.

A customer service representative knows how much it costs to handle customer service inquiries.

A social media manager knows how effective Facebook is. 2.

What is the target audience?

This can be anything you want.

The important thing is that you have a plan for reaching your target audience, and you want them to know about it.

The best marketing jobs do not involve reaching your customer base.

They are designed to get your target customers to a specific website or email.

This is called targeting.

You want to reach your target users, not your target customer base, and that means targeting different parts of your audience.

This can include: People who like your products, but are not interested in your services; People who use your products but are looking for something different. 

3.

How will you sell to your target market?

Marketing jobs require you to have some background in sales, marketing, or other sales-related areas.

You must have a solid understanding of the product you are marketing.

You will also need to be able to talk about your product and how it works.

You can do this by asking your target people a lot of questions about your company, the services you offer, and what they like about your products.

What are the skills you will need?

In my opinion, marketing jobs are best for people with a good grasp of SEO and social media.

You need to know the SEO basics and how to best target your target groups.

You should also have the skills to talk to people about your services and how they use your product.

You may need to use a variety of social networking tools. 

5.

Do you have an open position?

If you have no position open right now, it doesn’t mean you should hire a new marketing person and move on to the next job.

The key is to find a position that is not open right away.

You do not need to hire a person right away, just keep an eye on the position for at least a few months to see if it is filled. 

6.

What experience do you have?

You should have some experience working in the field.

You could look for a job in a field that you know well.

A good example would be marketing for a large, multi-national company.

Another example would include helping your clients build their online presence and marketing their businesses.

If someone who is not a big name is the best candidate, they might want to consider the position. 

7.

Are you available to talk?

If there are no open positions right now and you are looking, you can always talk to a recruiter to see how they see you.

They might be able help you find a job and maybe even help you land the marketing job. 

8.

What skills do you want?

If someone is looking to hire someone for a new job, they want someone with experience in SEO, social media marketing, and/or social media sales.

The more experience you have in a specific industry, the better.

If your job involves marketing, you might want an SEO marketing person who knows how the business works and how the users interact with their site.

If a job involves social media or SEO, you may want a social media marketer or a social marketing strategist. 

9.

What will you be doing?

As a marketing manager, you will be responsible for running all the marketing for your clients and the company.

This includes the following tasks: 1) How to reach people, including: who to reach, what to do, and when to reach them. 

You should also understand your audience, your customers, and how you can reach them the best way possible. 

The best marketing job doesn’t require you spend a lot time and effort to reach out to your targets.

The marketing you do will be about building relationships, building trust, and building relationships.
